Passivation

Acid passivating ensures that the surface of a stainless steel is hygienic and well passivated.

Passivating is a chemical treatment that often follows acid pickling. The treatment of “pickling and passivating" is in fact a combination of these two acid treatments.

Most commonly used standards for pickling and passivating are ASTM A380-13, ASTM A967-13
